This event will take place on six successive Saturdays: July 7, 14, 21, 28, August   4, 11 with participants’ set-up time starting at 10:00 AM.  Participants will leave the grounds by 4:00 PM.


● Registration is open to persons eighteen years of age or over.

● Participants must register before June 15th for one or a maximum of two sessions. Registration will be taken on a first come, first served, basis.  Registration opens on 15 April 2018. Registration forms received before this date will not be processed. The deadline for registration is 15 June 2018.   Late registration will be permitted, if space is available (to a total of 15 participants per session).

 ● Confirmation will be sent by e-mail (or by telephone if requested) when registration is received and processed.

● A registration fee of $15.00 per participant (no additional fee for participants electing to register for two sessions) payable by cheque to Fort Sackville Foundation must accompany the completed registration form.

● No parking will be permitted on the Manor House grounds on the days when the event is in progress.   However,  participants will be allowed to deliver their equipment onto the grounds by vehicle before parking off site in designated area(s).

● On arrival, participants must sign in with Manor House staff and receive identification badges. Complimentary bottled water will be provided.

● Each participant is permitted a maximum of two easels.

● Participants are responsible for their own clean-up and removal of all material and supplies.

● Participants may not show or sell work completed prior to this event.
However, work in progress may be sold during the day.

● Participants unable to paint in the timeslots assigned to them may reschedule only in remaining available times.  Participants must inform the organizers , if they choose to give their time to another participant.

● Participants are encouraged to inform themselves about the venue from the Scott Manor House website
and to explore the property before painting day.  Arrangements will be made for participants to meet the Summer Staff.


If making art in the great outdoors is your passion, head for Scott Manor this summer.  Just pack up your easel and paints, or whatever you need, then come and find your inspiration.   The stately house that Joseph Scott built nearly 250 years ago still stands, surrounded by tranquil grounds.  It is all yours to discover on the site where Fort Sackville also stood, when British Redcoats guarded the mouth of the Sackville River. Pick your spot and create.  You may be inspired by the lines of the house, by a single flower nodding gracefully in the sun, or some detail that has escaped everyone’s eye but yours.

 This is not a juried event or a competition.  If you are a newcomer to discovering the exciting world of visual art, you are just as welcome as a seasoned professional.  There will be an opportunity to show and sell after the final painting session (dates given below).  All regulations pertaining to the event follow here at

● Complete the SUBMISSION FORM to have work included in the follow-up show.

 ● Do not frame your work, and do not use screws or attach wire.

 ● Affix a card to the back of your work, indicating your name, the medium used, the title (if any), dimensions and asking price. 

● Submit only one work for show and sale, scheduled for 20-28 August (1 PM to 4 PM daily) with submission date of 18 and 19 August.

Scott Manor Tea Room does not serve on Saturdays, but the room will be open for those wishing an indoor area for resting or eating packed lunches. Lemonade and Ice Tea, as well as oat cakes, will be available during the day for $2.00. Correct change will be appreciated.

● There is a public washroom in Scott Manor House.

● Artists working with water colors will be able to draw water from an outside tap.
